1099 vs W-2 calculator for CRNAs

Is that 1099 rate really better than your salary? Compare them like for like, including the costs you take on as a contractor.

What this includes

As a contractor you pay both halves of Social Security and Medicare tax. The calculator adds the employer's half (7.65%) as an extra cost. That's a simplification, since part of it is deductible and Social Security tax stops above a yearly wage cap. Remember the weeks you don't work as a 1099 are unpaid.
