How an anesthesia account transfer works, step by step

From first call to the last claim your team touches. Most small transfers take six to ten weeks.

  1. Week 1: confidential call. We talk through your accounts in general terms. No names yet.
  2. Week 1 to 2: NDA and numbers. You share revenue by account and contract terms.
  3. Week 2 to 3: written offer. Price, how much is paid at closing, and how the rest is paid.
  4. Week 3 to 5: signing. A purchase agreement for the accounts, reviewed by your lawyer.
  5. Week 4 to 6: client introductions. We call each client together. You explain why, we explain what stays the same.
  6. Week 5 to 8: data and handover. Claim history, payer setups and records move under new business associate agreements. New claims start with us.
  7. Week 6 to 10: parallel run. Your team finishes claims already in flight, or we take them over, as agreed.
  8. After closing: payments tied to client retention, on the schedule in the agreement.

Who keeps collections on claims from before the transfer is agreed up front. See A/R in an account transfer.

Our promise to sellers

How we'll treat you and your clients

  • We sign an NDA before you share client names or numbers.
  • Your clients hear about it from you and us together, after signing. Never before.
  • Every term, including how and when you're paid, is written out in plain English before you sign.
  • Your clients' fees don't go up for at least 12 months after the handover.
  • If you're selling only your anesthesia accounts, we won't approach your other clients. We'll put that in writing.
  • If we're not the right buyer, we'll tell you quickly and point you somewhere better if we can.
