W-2 or 1099
A W-2 employee gives you more control and loyalty. A 1099 contractor gives you flexibility. The IRS and your state have rules on who counts as which, so talk to an accountant. See W-2 vs 1099.
Start credentialing early
Your new CRNA can't bill under your group until enrollment and reassignment are done. That can take months. Start as soon as they sign.
Pay
Look at local rates, add the value of any benefits, and decide whether you'll share profits. A small share of profits keeps good people.
The contract
Cover duties, schedule, pay, notice, and non-solicitation of your facilities. Non-competes are limited or banned in some states. Ask a lawyer what's allowed where you are.
